What is recommend, Engineered Boards or Solid Boards?We strongly recommend to always use engineered boards as these are far more stable than solid wood. It is significant that architects specify engineered wood flooring on virtually all projects other than heritage work.

What is the difference between Rustic, Prime, Brown and Colour Variation when choosing boards?These are the different grades of oak. Rustic - Is character grade with knotting Prime - Is with no knots Brown - The wood is completely brown Colour Variation - This has some brown and some light.

What does book match mean?Book match means that a plank of wood is split in half and opened up like a book. This creates a and shows off the pattern in the wood by creating a mirror image within the wood.

How are our engineered boards made and best used for?Our engineered boards are made of solid oak glued onto a high quality Latvian birch ply. It is perfect for use with underfloor heating as due to the manufacturing technique, shrinkage when the heating is on is reduced to a bare minimum. There is still the advantage of being able to renovate the floor in the future because of the thickness of the ware layer i.e. 5mm. The boards are available either unsealed or pre-sealed or stained and sealed.
